There’s nothing to beat an English seaside resort to bring back childhood memories of holidays and sunshine, and the North Norfolk coastline does just that. We were blessed with four days of sunshine and fine weather, and spent time in Cromer, Blakeney, and all the villages in between.
Cromer is a perfect example of the “Good Old Fashioned” English seaside town, with a pier and promenade, some small and laid-back entertainments for the kids, and a lovely quiet atmosphere.
The beaches along the North Norfolk coast are absolutely perfect – long sandy stretches, clean and quiet, and plenty of quiet little bays dotted along the coast.
A bit further along the coast are Blakeney and Moreston, which don’t have beaches as such, but salt marshes, and from where you can get boat trips out to sea the grey seal colony at Moreston Point. This was one of the best seal-watching boat trips I have experienced (and one of the cheapest) – both times I have been , we got really close to the main colony and also got good views of seals swimming around the boat. A really good short trip for the kids too.
